Two weeks have passed by and we are still receiving feed back from participants and guests, it was a really nice festival, very mellow atmosphere and lots of talent.
There are so many people and organizations to thank… creative workshops, the photo booth by Joe De Haan, the Screening room by Deba Salim, all the visitors from the UK, Crisis-Skylight for their amazing support, the t-shirts, technical equipment and volunteers…
Christopher and Arturo who filmed the event are now at the Index Arts office editing all the footage we’ve got from the festival plus more than 1000 pictures, if you are interested in collecting pictures and footage from your performance, workshop or simply want to watch the highlights of the festival, drop a comment at the end of this page and we will get back to you.

The Get In
A fantastic pre-production involving people from Ten Feet Away, Crisis, Streets alive, Turnaround E1, the Dellow Centre, Put do Moi, Enoa-ru and Vision Impossible. The interior of St Johns church was transform into different platforms displaying visual arts, sculptures and a space for guests to add their own work.
A very special thanks to Jes (general tech), Idol (sound tech), Giuliana (lighting tech) and Sonia (VJ).
The Launch
Kicking off with Maluko Da Beko (the samba band coming from Cordoba-Spain) playing in the sculpture garden things went really nice, with Joe and Billy introducing all the organizations that came from abroad specially to the festival. The Elastic band opened the night with Irish music followed by performances from Jaqui Chin (Vision Impossible), Paco, and Hanny and Tina (music and poetry).
The Festival
Starting from Friday things went really well, all the international partners were in London running and taking part in activities, performances and exchanging thoughts and experiences. Workshops and activities run smoothly and on Friday and Sunday the Skylight band + Core Arts musicians (Thanks Duska!) entertained visitors. On Friday evening The Cesareans (music band) had a unique performance to finish the day.
The international night including Cocorrom from Japan, Asylum Monologues from Actors for Refugees and Critical Mass, the latest production from Street Wise Opera. During the day an interesting performance from Put do Moi; samba, poetry and Visual art workshops, massages and food (A big thanks to Esi and to Food for all for looking after everyone and preparing such an amazing food).
The Fire Show Finale
At 9pm on Sunday a group of circus and street performers created an amazing show full of light, colour and skills at the St John’s Sculputre Garden. More than 250 people got together to watch this show.

Abrazos
walked past the gallery yesterday, 18th July, not a poster in the window, not a mention of this international festival of arts - whether it was on or even if it would be on. Just a small sandwich board about Bedlam.
Hi Jeff, you mean the Novas Contemporary Urban Centre? We will make sure that some posters will be displayed, there is a banner on the way… a bit late. Thanks for your comment, do you work at Novas? Are you coming to the festival? hope things at Crafty flok are ok. Talk to you soon…
