Jamie New aka Ghetto Kid is an up and coming music producer and illustration artist. Once homeless and in prison, he now devotes a lot of his time to helping other young artists come to the fore and works with homeless organisations. Here, we see him at work in his home-cum-studio with MC Josh, “Psychcrowe”. Though never formally trained, Jamie’s works are bold,
detailed, and often large scale, including a commissioned panoramic mural “Sign of the Times” in the sitting room of a hostel. He draws inspiration from urban culture and he talks openly about the difficulties of pursuing an artistic career when you’re outside of “the system”.
